When you install a beautiful new floor, you want everything to look perfect. Standard metal vents can look ugly and out of place. We can make custom matching vents from real solid wood or directly from your leftover flooring material.

Because many of our clients are busy contractors and homeowners from all over the world, we keep our process simple, clear, and fast. Here is how we can help you get the perfect vents for your space.

1. Beautiful Solid Wood Vents

If you want real wood vents, we can build them for you from scratch using high-quality lumber.

• Two Styles Available: We make Flush style (the vent sits completely flat and even with your floor) and Overlap style (the vent sits slightly on top of the floor).
• Many Wood Types: We can make vents from Red Oak, White Oak, Maple, Walnut, Jatoba, Hickory, and more.
• Sizes: Our standard pre-programmed sizes are 3" x 10" and 4" x 10". If you need a special size, do not worry! We can make custom sizes to fit any floor opening.
• Air Flow Controls (Dampers): For standard 3x10 and 4x10 vents, we have premade metal dampers to open and close the air. For custom-sized vents, we use our high-tech laser machine to cut custom air controls from strong, clear acrylic plastic.

2. Vents Made Directly From Your Flooring Material

Do you want your vents to blend in completely? Give us your leftover flooring material, and we will turn it into matching vents!

Engineered Wood Flooring

We can easily make vents out of engineered flooring with a wood top layer. However, some popular brands like Divine Flooring, Preverco, and Craft do not have a third bottom layer to support the vent. For these brands, we recommend gluing an extra layer of plywood to the back before we start cutting. This makes the vent strong so it does not crack when stepped on.

SPC and WPC (Vinyl Flooring)

We can use SPC and WPC materials to make vents, but only as a single-piece unit. Because this material is very thin, we cannot build a separate outer frame for it. To make sure the vent is rigid and strong, we will glue a piece of plywood to the back.

3. Fresh Air Returns for Walls (MDF Vents)

Need vents for your walls? We can cut custom vents out of MDF (Medium-Density Fiberboard). These are perfect for fresh air returns on walls, and you can paint them to match your wall color perfectly.

4. Important Technical Rules for Safety and Quality

To make sure your vents are strong and look professional, we follow a few structural rules:

• Air Slot Length: The air slots (the open slits inside the vent) can only be a maximum of 4 inches long. If they are longer, the cuts will not be clean and the vent becomes too weak to walk on.
• Forced Air Heating: If you have a forced air heating system, we strongly encourage using air dampers. The heavy heat can cause real wood to bend with temperature changes. The damper helps keep the wood straight and safe.
• Black Insides (Optional Upgrade): If you do not want to see dust or the subfloor through the slots, we can paint the insides of the slots black for a small extra charge. This gives a very clean, high-end look.

5. Already Laid Your Floor? We Have a Solution!

Did you already install your flooring but forgot to leave holes for flush vents? Do not worry! We can build custom jigs (cutting templates). These tools allow you or your installer to cut into the finished floor perfectly to install flush vents after the floor is already laid down.

6. What Material Do We Need From You?

If you want us to make standard 3" x 10" or 4" x 10" vents from your own flooring planks, please bring us:

• 2 pieces of flooring (at least 15 inches long) if your planks are 7 inches wide or wider.
• 3 pieces of flooring (at least 15 inches long) if your planks are narrower than 7 inches.
